Hostility

Hostility refers to discrimination against asexual and aromantic people. It manifests itself, for example, in rejection, anger, intolerance, prejudice, discomfort or physical or psychological violence towards asexual/aromatic people or people who are perceived as asexual/aromatic.

Internalised hostility is hostility that is directed against one's own asexuality or aromanticity and thus against oneself. This often occurs in a hostile environment and/or before one's own inner coming out. The queer scene is also sometimes a hostile place. Hostility is sometimes also referred to as allonormativity.
