Trigger Warning, TW, Content Note, CN: Trigger is a term used in psychology. People who are triggered by a certain topic (e.g. description or depiction of violence) feel extremely uncomfortable and can relapse into a trauma, depression, panic attack or similar. For people with certain triggers, it is better if they know in advance what to expect in a text. They can then decide for themselves whether they can deal with these issues or whether they would rather not read a text at the moment.
A trigger warning can be set before posts with topics that can be triggers for some people.
