Friends with Benefits
The term “friends with benefits” describes a friendship in which two people also have a sexual relationship in addition to their friendship. The focus is not on a conventional romantic partnership, but on a casual arrangement involving recurring or occasional sex without being a committed couple.
Clear agreements, consent, and open communication are important so that expectations, boundaries, and possible feelings do not lead to misunderstandings. Because such arrangements can change emotionally over time, everyone involved should check regularly whether the setup still works for them.
