Amicusromantisch

Amicusromantisch beschrijft een romantische oriëntatie waarbij romantische aantrekking pas kan ontstaan nadat er al een platonische relatie, vriendschap of vertrouwde niet-romantische band met een andere persoon is opgebouwd. Zonder zo’n voorafgaande verbinding wordt doorgaans geen romantische aantrekking ervaren.

De term lijkt op demiromantisch, maar legt vooral de nadruk op een platonische of vriendschappelijke basis. Dit betekent niet dat uit elke vriendschap romantische aantrekking ontstaat, maar dat romantische aantrekking voor amicusromantische mensen afhankelijk kan zijn van bestaande platonische nabijheid.

Amicusromantisch kan worden begrepen als een identiteit binnen het aromantische spectrum. Zoals bij alle termen voor oriëntatie beschrijft de term persoonlijke ervaring; of “amicusromantisch” passend voelt, bepaalt de persoon zelf.
