Impotence
Impotence is an outdated and often perceived as pejorative term for a sexual dysfunction in which it is difficult to achieve or maintain a sufficient erection. In medical language, this is usually referred to as erectile dysfunction.
The causes can be physical, psychological, or both, for example stress, circulatory problems, hormonal factors, medication side effects, or relationship difficulties. If the problem persists, medical evaluation is advisable, as erectile dysfunction can also be a sign of other health issues.
