Bisexual Health Awareness Month
Bisexual Health Awareness Month (BHAM) takes place every year in March. It was created by the Bisexual Resource Center to raise awareness of health inequalities and discrimination affecting bisexual people. These include both physical and mental health burdens, as well as disadvantages in medical and psychological care.
BHAM is intended to highlight that bisexual people often face prejudice, invisibility and poorer access to support and treatment. A range of online and offline activities take place during the month to inform people about these issues and to improve awareness of bisexual health. It is important to take these concerns seriously and not to downplay bisexual experiences.
