Bisexual

Bisexual refers to a sexual orientation. People may describe themselves as bisexual if they feel sexual attraction to people of two or more genders. The exact meaning can vary from person to person and depends on how someone experiences and names their own attraction.

Bisexuality does not automatically mean being attracted only to men and women. It does not exclude attraction to non-binary, genderqueer, or otherwise gender-diverse people. Bisexuality is also often described as attraction to one’s own gender and to one or more other genders.

Some bisexual people experience gender as relevant to their attraction, while others experience attraction more independently of gender. This means there can be overlap with terms such as pansexual or omnisexual. The label a person uses is a matter of self-description and should be respected.
