Biphobia
Biphobia refers to discrimination and devaluation of bisexual people. It can appear as rejection, prejudice, discomfort, anger, exclusion, or psychological and physical violence. It can also affect people who are perceived by others as bisexual, even if they use a different label.
Internalised biphobia means hostility directed towards one’s own bisexual orientation. This can lead people to devalue or suppress their own feelings. Such attitudes often develop in biphobic, homophobic or generally non-accepting environments and can also occur in queer spaces. It is important to note that biphobia is a form of discrimination and can be deeply harmful.
