Ceaseromantic
Ceaseromantic refers to a romantic orientation or self-description within the broader aromantic spectrum. People may describe themselves as ceaseromantic if they generally experience romantic attraction, but that attraction sometimes stops completely or noticeably disappears for a period of time.
The term is derived from the English verb “to cease,” meaning “to stop” or “to come to an end.” Ceaseromantic people may experience romantic attraction in phases, depending on the situation, or with changing intensity. The key point is that romantic attraction can be present in general, but is not experienced continuously or permanently.
Ceaseromanticism is not the same as uncertainty, a lack of interest in relationships, or a relationship phase without infatuation. It primarily describes a pattern of romantic attraction. As with other orientation terms, the label should be respected as a self-description and not applied to others from the outside.
