Aromantic

Aromantic describes people who experience little or no romantic attraction toward other individuals. Romantic relationships play little or no role in the lives of aromantic people.

Being aromantic does not mean that a person is incapable of deep emotions, closeness, or meaningful bonds. Many aromantic people maintain close friendships, family relationships, or other intense interpersonal connections that can be just as significant as romantic partnerships are for others.

Aromanticism is independent of asexuality. A person can be aromantic while still experiencing sexual attraction, or they may feel romantic emotions without sexual interest. Aromanticism is a natural part of the spectrum of human orientations and is neither an illness nor a deficiency or temporary phase.
