Community
A community is the collective of a connected group of people who come together through shared interests, experiences, identities, or goals. In queer and BDSM contexts, the term often refers to local or broader networks of individuals, groups, organizations, and venues. What connects them is often exchange, mutual support, visibility, and shared engagement.
The term is intentionally broad and can vary in size and structure depending on the context. A community is not a single unified voice; it consists of many perspectives, needs, and lived realities. In interactions, respect, confidentiality, and recognition of different boundaries are especially important.
