Insatiability
Insatiability refers colloquially to a strongly expressed, persistent sexual desire or a frequent wish for sexual activity. The term is evaluative and is generally not used as a medical diagnosis. Whether a high sex drive is experienced as problematic depends mainly on whether the person is suffering or their daily life is affected.
The claim that sexual insatiability is labeled nymphomania in women and considered normal in men mainly reflects historical and stereotypical assumptions. Such judgments are now scientifically and linguistically problematic. In cases of conspicuous or distressing sexual behavior, a sensitive, non-judgmental assessment is appropriate; professional support may be advisable.
