Lactation
Lactation is the production and release of milk from the breast, usually in connection with pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. In erotic or BDSM contexts, the term is also used for nursing or suckling an adult partner; common English terms in this setting are adult nursing, breastfeeding, and adult nursing relationship (ANR). Such practices rely on consent, trust, and clear agreements.
Milk production can sometimes be stimulated outside pregnancy through regular nipple stimulation, pumping, or massage; this is called induced lactation. If milk production is restarted after a break, it is called relactation. These processes should not be attempted lightly, as hormonal factors, physical strain, and possible pain or irritation can be involved. Persistent or unwanted milk flow, or any discomfort, should be medically assessed.
