Spanking
Spanking refers to striking the buttocks or other parts of the body with the flat hand or with implements such as a cane, crop, or paddle. The term comes from English and was originally also used for physical punishment in educational or school contexts. In today’s BDSM context, spanking usually means a consensual sexual or erotic practice between adults.
Depending on intensity and the tool used, spanking can range from light smacking to much more painful forms. Consent, clear agreements, and proper technique are important to avoid bruising, injury, or tissue damage. Particularly sensitive or vulnerable areas such as the kidneys, spine, face, joints, or genitals should not be struck lightly. Spanking is not a harmless standard practice; it should be carried out responsibly, in a controlled manner, and with an immediate way to stop.
