Mons pubis

The mons pubis is the soft pad of fat and tissue over the female pubic bone, directly above the vulva. In many women it forms a slight to more pronounced elevation and is usually covered with pubic hair, although it may be partly or completely hairless depending on individual characteristics and hair removal.

Anatomically, the mons pubis is not part of the vagina but belongs to the external female genital area. In a sexual context, it may be perceived as an erogenous or touch-sensitive area, but like any intimate region it should be treated with respect, consent, and gentle handling.
