Sexual Intercourse
Sexual intercourse generally refers to sexual activity between two or more people, especially activities involving physical contact and, in some cases, penetration. Historically, the term was often used narrowly for vaginal intercourse between a man and a woman, but in modern usage it is often broader and may also include other forms of sexual activity.
Depending on context, this can include vaginal intercourse, anal intercourse, and in some cases other intimate practices. The exact meaning varies and is not always uniform. Regardless of definition, consent, communication, and safer-sex measures are important. For penetrative activities, hygiene, sufficient lubrication, and protection against sexually transmitted infections should be considered.
