Advocate
A person who actively works against intolerance and discrimination, informs others about queer topics, or supports the equality of a particular group may be called an advocate or ally. The term describes a supportive stance based on solidarity, visibility, and practical support.
It is important that advocacy does not replace the voices of the people affected. An ally does not speak over a group or claim to represent it, but instead supports its concerns respectfully, learns independently, and acts responsibly where possible. Listening, sensitivity, and a willingness to reflect on one’s own privileges are key.
