Aegoromantic

Aegoromantic, also called ageoromantic or autochorisromantic, describes a romantic orientation on the aromantic spectrum. The term may be used by people who enjoy romantic content, fantasies, or ideas, or who experience romantic desire, while feeling little or no romantic attraction toward specific other people.

Aegoromantic people may enjoy romantic books, films, series, roleplay, or fantasies without wanting to enter a romantic relationship themselves or without imagining themselves as an active participant in those scenarios. There is often a degree of distance between romantic interest in fantasy and the desire for real-life romantic involvement.

Aegoromantic is one of many labels within the aromantic spectrum. As with all orientation terms, it describes personal experience; whether the term feels accurate is for the individual to decide.
