Polyamory refers to the possibility or practice of loving more than one person at the same time or having romantic relationships with more than one person, openly, honestly and with consent. What matters is not only the feeling of love itself, but also how relationships are lived: through communication, transparency and clear agreements. Polyamory is not simply “more than an affair”, but a deliberate relationship model.

Polyamorous describes people or relationships that belong to or are based on polyamory. Not all polyamorous people feel equally in love in every relationship, and not every polyamorous relationship looks the same. Some people love several people at once, while others develop love one after another or with different levels of intensity. The term refers to a relationship model, not to an obligation to have several partners.
