Love Bite
A love bite is a bite or sucking mark on the skin that occurs during kissing or in a sexual context and may be meant as a sign of passion or play. In most cases, it is not an actual bite intended to injure, but rather a gentle, often spontaneous marking of the skin. Visible marks are often called hickeys and are caused by small blood vessels breaking beneath the skin.
Even though love bites are usually meant harmlessly, they can cause bruising, skin injury, or in rare cases infections. Extra caution is needed on the neck or in intimate areas, where the skin is more sensitive. Everything should be consensual and considerate of pain sensitivity, skin reactions, and possible health risks.
