Aro

Aro is a short form of aromantic. The term is often used as a self-identification and also as an umbrella term for people who feel little, rare or no romantic attraction. Aro can therefore refer to an identity, an orientation, or a community.

It is important to distinguish this from sexual orientation: aromanticism says nothing about a person’s sexual attraction or sexual activity. Someone can be aromantic and still be sexually interested, sexually active, or happy in other forms of relationship. The exact meaning of the term can vary from person to person.
