Angled Aroace

Angled aroace is a self-description for people who are aromantic and asexual, or who are on the aromantic and asexual spectra, and who still experience one or more forms of attraction that are important to their identity. This attraction is not, or is not primarily, romantic or sexual.

This may include aesthetic, platonic, alterous, queerplatonic, sensual, emotional, or intellectual attraction. A person may therefore describe themselves, for example, as bi angled aroace, pan angled aroace, or lesbian angled aroace if the corresponding non-romantic and non-sexual attraction is significant to them.

The related term “oriented aroace” is often used in a similar way; however, some people distinguish more precisely between “oriented aroace” for strictly aromantic and asexual people and “angled aroace” for people on the respective spectra, such as grayromantic, demiromantic, graysexual, or demisexual people. As with all identity terms, the individual decides which label feels accurate.
