Asexuality
Asexual describes people who experience little or no sexual attraction toward other individuals. Asexuality is understood as a spectrum, which is often emphasized by the use of an underscore. Within this spectrum, there are different expressions and individual experiences.
Asexuality does not mean that a person lives celibately or completely abstains from sex. Celibacy is a conscious personal decision and not a sexual orientation. Asexual people may have sexual experiences for various reasons without this contradicting their sexual orientation.
Asexuality is an independent sexual orientation and part of the diversity of human sexuality.
