Collar
In BDSM, a collar is often worn as a symbol of belonging, bond, or ownership. It may be worn by submissive or devoted persons as a sign of an agreement with a dominant partner, although its meaning can vary greatly depending on the relationship, the scene, and personal arrangements. Materials include leather, metal, and latex.
Not every collar automatically has a BDSM meaning. In the gothic and fetish scene, it is also worn as jewelry or a stylistic accessory, sometimes with and sometimes without any connection to dominance and submission. Context is what matters: a collar can be a purely fashionable item, a symbol of belonging, or part of a role- and power dynamic. As with all symbolic BDSM practices, consent, clear meaning, and respectful handling are important.
