Consensual

“Consensual” means based on mutual agreement or consent. In sexual and BDSM contexts, it means that everyone involved agrees voluntarily, informedly, and clearly. Consent must be clear, specific, and revocable at any time; silence, uncertainty, or the lack of objection do not count as consent.

Especially in BDSM, consent is the basis of every action. Without it, conduct can quickly become a criminal violation, such as assault or sexual violence. Clear agreements, respected boundaries, and careful use of safewords and stop signals are therefore essential.
