RACK
RACK stands for “Risk-Aware Consensual Kink” and means the consensual, risk-conscious practice of BDSM or kink activities. The term emphasizes that many practices are not completely safe, even when they are voluntary, negotiated, and carried out responsibly. RACK therefore focuses not on the absence of risk, but on dealing with it consciously and informatively.
In contrast to the more normative SSC concept (“safe, sane, consensual”), RACK highlights that safety in BDSM can never be guaranteed absolutely. What matters is informed consent, a realistic assessment of risks, good communication, and knowing when a practice is not advisable or requires special caution. RACK is therefore not an invitation to carelessness, but to reflective and responsible action.
