Cuddly sex

Cuddly sex, also called “blümchensex” or, colloquially, vanilla sex, refers to a tender, gentle, and more romantically oriented form of sexuality. The focus is on closeness, touch, kissing, caressing, and considerate interaction; intercourse may be included, but it is not necessary. In everyday usage, the term is often contrasted with especially experimental, rough, or BDSM-related practices, without necessarily devaluing them.

Depending on the context, cuddly sex may be described as loving, boring, or neutral; the evaluation is highly subjective. What matters is that even gentle sexuality is based on consent, communication, and mutual consideration. People who prefer less intense or more romantic sex should be able to express that openly without being judged.
