Human Rights Day
Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December. It marks the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations on 10 December 1948. The declaration emphasizes, among other things, the dignity of all people, equality, freedom, and the right to live free from discrimination.
In BDSM and sexual contexts, this reference is important because all sexual and erotic acts must be based on consent, informed agreement, and respect. Human rights, self-determination, and bodily integrity are non-negotiable. Any form of coercion, exploitation, or degradation is incompatible with this principle.
