Mono
Mono is a short form of monoamory and refers to preferring or practicing a romantic or sexual bond with only one person at a time. The term is mainly used in contrast to polyamory. It does not describe an inability to feel anything for others, but rather a relationship style or personal preference.
It is important to distinguish this from “mono” as a simple opposite of “poly”: not every monogamous or monoromantic relationship automatically means the same thing. In everyday use, the term is sometimes used imprecisely; technically, “monoamory” is more accurate than “monoamoury.”
