Monoromanticity
Monoromanticity refers to a romantic orientation in which a person is romantically attracted to only one gender or gender identity. In everyday usage, however, the term is sometimes used imprecisely. It is important not to confuse monoromanticity with monosexuality or with sexual orientation in general.
Thus, monoromantic does not mean simply “romantically attracted to people of only one gender” in every case. Depending on the situation, terms such as heteroromantic, homoromantic, or biromantic may be more precise. The exact meaning depends on whether romantic or sexual attraction is being described.
