Novosexual

Novosexuality is a sexual orientation or self-identifying term. People may describe themselves as novosexual if both their gender and their sexual orientation, or their experience of sexual attraction, change over time and are experienced as connected to each other.

The term describes a form of fluidity: when a person’s gender identity changes, it may also change which people or genders they feel sexually attracted to, or how that attraction is experienced. Novosexual is not a medical diagnosis, but an identity label. As with all terms relating to orientation and gender, what matters is how a person uses the term for themselves and which self-descriptions, names, and pronouns they choose.
