Rigger

A rigger is the person who ties, knots, or applies restraints in bondage. The term usually refers to the actively tying partner, who is responsible for rope placement, technique, and safety. Depending on the context, a rigger may also use other restraint methods, not only rope bondage.

Bondage requires knowledge, communication, and consent. Restraints should only be used with clear agreement and proper safety precautions, because poor technique can cause pressure marks, nerve injury, or circulation problems. Emergency scissors or a safety cutter, as well as a solid understanding of risk areas, are important precautions.
