Vacuum bed

A vacuum bed is a BDSM restraint device made of airtight material, usually latex or rubber. It resembles a sleeping bag or, at a glance, a vacuum mattress, but is specifically designed to immobilize the person inside by removing the air. The resulting negative pressure largely fixes the body in place, so movement is usually very limited.

This practice is potentially hazardous and should only be used with great care, clear consent, and appropriate safety measures. Essential precautions include a reliable means of breathing, a readily accessible emergency release, and constant supervision by a sober person present at all times. Tight or fully airtight restraints can become dangerous very quickly; if panic, breathing difficulties, pain, or circulatory problems occur, the restraint must be ended immediately. A vacuum bed is not a harmless novelty and should only be used responsibly by experienced people.
