Bastonade

Bastonade originally refers to a form of corporal punishment in which the bare soles of the feet are beaten with a stick or similar implement. The term is also used for falaka, a similar practice from the Arab world. Historically, bastonade was used as a form of torture or discipline and involved significant pain and risk of injury.

In BDSM contexts, bastonade is sometimes mentioned as a foot-sole play or punishment play activity. Here too, the soles of the feet are highly sensitive, and incorrect or overly forceful ضرب? omit. Such practices can cause injury, bruising or longer-lasting discomfort. They should only be considered with experience, clear agreements and very careful handling.
