Blind date

A blind date is a meeting between two people who have not met in person before. The contact often begins through a personal ad, a chat room or a dating platform online or in a newspaper. A blind date may be romantic, sexual or simply non-committal at first.

In a BDSM context, extra caution is important because you do not yet know the other person. Meeting in a public place, such as a café, can significantly reduce the risk. It is also sensible to tell a trusted person, have someone act as a cover and not rush into anything. The first meeting should be calm and clearly agreed upon; not everything needs to happen straight away.
