Bondage play
Bondage play refers to restraining a person in order to limit their freedom of movement. Depending on the context, different tools may be used, such as ropes, cuffs, handcuffs, straps, or special bondage accessories. In BDSM, restraint can be both an erotic element and a way to create control, staging, or consensual surrender.
Bondage is more than simply “tying someone up”: it involves technical, aesthetic, and communicative aspects. Especially in rope bondage, knowledge is essential, because incorrect use can cause pain, circulation problems, nerve injuries, or breathing issues. Therefore: only with consent, clear agreements, accessible safety shears or quick-release options, and never in a way that endangers breathing, circulation, or nerves.
As a visual element, bondage is often used for its artistic or ritual character, for example in elaborate rope ties or structured role dynamics. Practices that create complete immobility or prolonged restraint require extra caution, experience, and continuous monitoring. Bondage is not a license for reckless behavior, but a BDSM practice with significant safety requirements.
