Breast Form
A breast form is an artificial breast or breast prosthesis worn under clothing, in a bra, in special underwear, or directly on the skin to create the appearance of breasts or make the chest look larger. Breast forms are often made of silicone, foam, or similar materials; some are inserted into garments, while others are attached with skin-safe adhesive.
Breast forms are used by trans women, transfeminine and non-binary people, drag queens, crossdressers, and people after breast surgery or mastectomy, among others. They may serve gender expression, personal comfort, a stage persona, erotic play, or the balancing of bodily changes.
When worn directly on the skin, suitable skin-safe adhesives and removers should be used. Bras that are too tight, excessive compression, or improper attachment can cause pressure marks, skin irritation, or pain. Breast forms should be cleaned regularly, stored dry, and not used on sensitive skin if the material is damaged.
