Femmeromantic
Femmeromantic, also called gyneromantic, refers to romantic attraction to women and often also to people who are perceived as feminine or who identify and present themselves in a feminine way. The term is mainly used by people who want to describe their romantic orientation more precisely and inclusively, including many non-binary people. It does not by itself indicate sexual orientation.
It is important to use the term respectfully and precisely. Depending on context, “femme” may be understood in different ways, for example as a form of gender identity, gender expression, or social self-description. Femmeromantic is therefore not a fixed medical term, but an orientation label that developed within queer self-identification.
