Gender Presentation
Gender presentation refers to the outward expression of a person’s gender, for example through clothing, hairstyle, body language, voice, or behavior. It may be chosen intentionally, shaped by culture, or expressed independently of a person's inner gender identity.
How gender presentation is perceived depends strongly on social norms and the surrounding context. It is not automatically read as strictly male or female; androgynous, non-binary, or intentionally gender-nonconforming presentations are also possible and may be understood very differently depending on the setting. Respect and openness matter, because outward appearance does not always reveal identity, expression, or lived experience.
