Heterosexual

Heterosexual refers to a sexual orientation in which a person feels attracted predominantly or exclusively to people of a different gender. The term describes sexual attraction and does not automatically determine behavior, relationship style, or romantic orientation.

In many societies, heterosexuality has historically been treated as the social norm, but this is a cultural assumption rather than a natural or universal value judgment. Sexual orientation is diverse and individual; respectful language helps avoid reducing or judging different ways of living.
