Italy

Italy is a European country in Southern Europe with a diverse culture, long coastlines, and many tourist regions. As in many countries, laws and local regulations also apply there to public behavior, especially regarding sexual acts in public spaces.

Sexual activity in public places, such as on a beach, can be legally problematic in Italy and may result in fines or other penalties. Activity in a car is not automatically permitted either: the decisive factors are the actual circumstances, especially visibility to others, the location, and local rules. Supposed exceptions such as tinted windows or curtains do not replace a legal assessment. Public or semi-public sexual activity should therefore only take place where it is legally allowed and not disturbing to others.
