Kinbaku
Kinbaku is a Japanese art form of rope tying and is often referred to as bondage. The term usually describes a particularly aesthetic, body-focused, and often erotically charged style of rope restraint. Unlike simple immobilization, the focus is often on lines, tension, body posture, and presentation.
Despite its artistic character, Kinbaku is a physically demanding practice that requires knowledge, experience, and clear communication. Safe techniques, suitable materials, scissors or a cutter within reach, and avoiding pressure on nerves, blood vessels, or breathing are important. It should not be attempted casually without preparation.
