Missionary Position

The missionary position is a widely used sexual position in which one person lies on their back while the other positions themselves above them. Penetration often takes place, but depending on the situation the position can also be used for other forms of intimate touch. In everyday use, it is often described as classic; it is neither inherently “boring” nor especially exciting, but mainly a matter of personal preference.

The position often allows close body contact, eye contact, and good control over pace and depth. As with any sexual activity, consent, comfort, and communication are important. If pain, breathing difficulties, or joint strain occur, the position should be adjusted or stopped.
