X Position
In the X position, also known as the spread eagle, the bound person lies on their back or stomach with their arms and legs spread wide and attached to four separate points, such as bedposts or a St. Andrew’s cross. The position is often used for immobilization, presentation, or easier access within BDSM play.
The X position is a restraint position with increased risk, as it can strain joints, nerves, and circulation. It should only be used with suitable equipment, prior agreement, clear stop or safeword signals, and regular checks. Overstretching, numbness, or pain are warning signs; the restraints must be released immediately.
