Ropemarks
Ropemarks are visible impressions or pressure marks on the skin that can occur after bondage with rope. They show that the tissue has been briefly stressed and usually fade within a few hours to a few days. Depending on duration, tension, material, and skin sensitivity, they can be more or less pronounced.
If ropemarks remain visible for an unusually long time, or if there is severe pain, numbness, swelling, or discoloration, medical advice should be sought. In bondage, caution, good technique, and regular checks are important to avoid pressure injuries, nerve damage, and circulation problems.
