Yoni
Yoni is a term from Sanskrit and broadly refers to the female womb, vulva, or vagina. In spiritual and cultural contexts, the word often has a positive, honoring meaning. It is also sometimes used in erotic or tantric contexts. The term does not come directly from the Kama Sutra, although later interpretations and translations sometimes connect it with descriptions of female sexuality.
The classifications transmitted in the Kama Sutra into different types are culturally and historically shaped and should not be understood as medical measurements. From a modern perspective, such categories are simplified and only of limited practical value. In factual usage, “yoni” should be used respectfully and in context, without generalizing anatomical or personal characteristics.
