Binding Games
Binding games describe BDSM practices in which specific body parts are deliberately bound or restrained using ropes, straps, or similar materials. The aim is usually a conscious limitation of freedom of movement or an altered physical perception.
Common binding materials include ropes, straps, or soft bands. The binding of genital areas is also a known form of these practices. Binding can create a sensation of tightness that is associated with a reduced blood flow in the affected area.
Special caution is required in binding games. If restraints are applied too tightly or left in place for an extended period, health risks may arise. A strong restriction of blood circulation or compression of nerve pathways can cause temporary and, in individual cases, permanent damage.
For safety reasons, a means of rapid release should always be available during any form of binding game, such as suitable scissors. This allows for immediate intervention in an emergency and helps to resolve the situation quickly.
Common forms involve the testicular area in men, often using soft textiles or narrow leather straps. In women, binding is more frequently practiced in the chest area. Type, intensity, and duration should always be individually adjusted.
