Bullwhip

A bullwhip is a long whip, usually made of braided leather, with a core of cord or similar material and a tapering end. The term originally comes from livestock handling. Because of its striking appearance and characteristic crack, the bullwhip is the best-known type of whip and is sometimes used as a symbol in BDSM or dominance-related contexts.

Using a bullwhip on the human body is dangerous and requires a great deal of skill, practice, and control. Inexperienced handling can cause serious skin injuries, bleeding welts, or deeper tissue damage; especially risky is the uncontrolled wrap-around of the whip. Such practices should not be imitated lightly. If they are used at all, they should only be handled by very experienced people, with plenty of distance, clear safety rules, and no vulnerable body areas involved.
