flux
Flux, meaning “in flow” or “in motion,” is used as a suffix attached to terms for gender identities as well as sexual or romantic orientations. It describes that the intensity with which a person experiences their gender, sexual attraction, or romantic attraction may change over time.
Unlike “fluid,” which usually refers to shifting between different identities or orientations, “flux” mainly describes fluctuations in the strength or degree of an experience. Some people, however, use “flux” and “fluid” synonymously or combine both terms when both apply to them.
For example, a demiflux person has a gender that is partly stable, while another part may vary in intensity. As with all identity terms, the individual person decides which label feels accurate for them.
