Demigender

Demigender refers to a gender identity in which a person identifies only partly with a gender. It is also used as an umbrella term for identities such as demiboy and demigirl. Depending on the person, this partial connection may relate to a specific gender or more generally to a sense of closeness to it without fully identifying with it.

The term is part of the spectrum of non-binary gender identities and is understood differently by different people. Because gender identity is deeply personal, self-identification is what matters most. There is no fixed external rule for how demigender identity must feel or how it has to appear in everyday life. 01/25
